Week 25

After the 3lb loss last week, half a pound has sneaked on. No, I am not worried because it was all about personal achievement and ‘first's’ this week, and this week I feel really good.
I went swimming 3 times – Not feeling quite so self conscious in the cossie now but not quite bikini body yet
I played squash for the first time in years – Ok, didn’t move the legs much (no change there then) but one thing at a time.
I walked 3.5 miles for the first time between Hayling Island Bridge and Emsworth Quay around Langstone Harbour– oh so beautiful (doggy friendly walk with decent doggy friendly pubs at each end).

On my second walk I extended the Harbour walk to a point to point from Emsworth Marina to Northney Marina –a total of 5 miles and to be very truthful my legs did ache a little afterwards.
I put on a pair of shorts this week that I have not been able to wear for 4 years and they slid on... another mini step forward before I consider hitting the internet for a pair of retro hotpants! Now, talking of hotpants, look at this gorgeous picture of my mum aged 29ish. Now ladies, that's how you wear hotpants.

I put on my lifejacket for the first time this boating season....and had to tighten the straps by a few inches...even across the boob area!
I also signed up to my first charity bike ride this week - as per my promise on my bucket list. My target is to lose 42lbs by the day of the ride. I have lost 35lbs so I need to lose 7lbs in the next 6 weeks to put another tick in the box. Every pound lost beforehand is going to make that hilly 25 mile ride easier!

Generally though, I have found that it is the simple things in life that become easier when you lose weight, like painting your toe nails or reversing your car (not at the same time obviously), climbing the stairs, putting on shoes etc etc...Little achievements all the way. Half a pound on is not a reflection of my achievement this week and for the first time in forever I think I might be approaching this weight loss journey like a grown up....well some of the time anyway. Slowly, slowly and making the most of my new capabilities along the way
So forward we go my little chicka dees, chipping away at the next half a stone. Upping the cycling and booking my first horse riding lesson this week - should be good for a photo opportunity that's for sure. All good. All very good.
Thirty five pounds of fat overboard captain, with thirty five pounds being chased at the helm. Sx
